As you know, I’m on a quest to change lives!  I want something that will inspire me and inspire my body for greater being and beauty and that’s exactly why I tried this sneaky bio-hack.  Is this your  secret to fat loss?   Well, it’s no secret that coconut oil has risen through the ranks of super-foods and become one of nature’s most valuable sources for positive health effects!

But did you know… it’s a super-hero focus (and metabolism-boosting) ingredients combined with caffeine and love?

I know it might be surprising to hear because coconut oil contains such a high amount of saturated fat. In the past, this high saturated fat content gave coconut oil a bad rap, and caused people to ignore the benefits of this highly potent plant. The key difference is that coconut oil’s saturated fat content isn’t the same saturated fat type that you find in food items like dairy or meat.

Instead, coconut oil is made up of MCTs – Medium Chain Triglycerides (or Medium Chain Fatty Acids). This distinction is important because our body has different digestion tactics for fatty acid chains of varying lengths. Our body is able to digest MCTs quickly, and in a way that doesn’t strain our digestive system.

Since MCTs are absorbed faster and not stored as fats, they are great at blood sugar management; they don’t cause an insulin spike yet still provide a quick boost in energy. This is intrinsic for weight loss because when your energy sources last longer, you’re less hungry.

When MCTs are absorbed, they go directly to the liver, which, in turn, changes the fatty acid chains into ketone bodies: Molecules that help to normalize brain function, especially in common brain disorders like dementia.

Of the saturated fat content in coconut oil, about 50% is a glyceride called lauric acid. That lauric acid is inherent in coconut oil is important because it’s rarely found in nature; lauric acid helps to destroy viruses like the flu and measles as well as bacteria and fungi.

There are two types of coconut oil: Virgin and refined. Similar to raw honey, virgin coconut oil hasn’t been treated with chemicals or any pasteurization process; it exists in its initial, extracted form. On the other hand, refined coconut oil often goes through a high temp chemical process and acts as deodorization agent. You’ll want to get cold-pressed coconut oil. MCT Oil

From coconut oil we segue into an explanation on MCT Oil, which is a derivative of coconut oil. MCT Oil differs from coconut oil because it remains liquid at room temperature. This is caused by a process called fractionation, which extracts some of the fatty acids in coconut oil, to reduce it down to MCT Oil.

MCT Oil contains many of the same properties as coconut oil including:

  • Faster digestion, allowing for better mineral absorption
  • Blood sugar regulation, hunger satiation and improved metabolism
  • Increased ketone production leading to an energy boost

Caffeine

This brings us to caffeine and the benefits of caffeine in its purest forms. A healthy way to start your morning is by combining our super heroes: Coconut oil – or another MCT – with caffeine. Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Brew 1 cup (8 oz.) of coffee using filtered water, just off the boil, with 2 1/2 heaping tablespoons freshly ground Bulletproof® Upgraded™ Coffee Beans.
  2. Add in 1-2 tablespoons Bulletproof® Upgraded™ Brain Octane™ to the hot coffee (It’s STRONG – start with 1 tsp. and work up over several days).

  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 2½ tablespoons Bulletproof Upgraded Coffee Beans
